We don't sell a chemical peel. We sell a progression.

Most people who come to us have had a peel before. One peel, somewhere, at some point. Maybe it did something for a week. Maybe it made their pigment worse. Either way it didn't hold, and they concluded peels don't work on their skin.

Peels work. Single peels mostly don't.

At The Glow Lab we run The Glow Lab Peel Series — six named protocols across three depths, using GlyMed Plus pharmaceutical-grade solutions. You start at the gentlest depth. We increase the intensity every two weeks. You move up to a stronger peel only once your skin has handled the one below it.

Depth is earned. That sentence is the whole method.

The three depths

Very superficial — where everyone starts

The Essential Oxygen Regenerative Peel ($149) is the gentlest peel we perform and the only one you can book on a first visit with no preparation. Oxygen and 5% lactic acid, layered and self-neutralizing. Brightens immediately, reduces acne bacteria, no downtime.

The Acne Oxygen Peel ($175) adds a salicylic acid cleanse for active breakouts. Same gentle depth, aimed at acne specifically.

Advanced very superficial — the step up

The Essential Peptide Perfection Peel ($175) is a 15% AHA blend — mandelic, malic and lactic — carried on six peptides. Mandelic acid is the fourth-smallest AHA, so it penetrates slowly and irritates less.

This is the only peel in our line cleared for rosacea. If you've been told peels aren't for your skin, this is the one that is.

Superficial — our corrective depth

The Essential 30% Glycolic & Lactic Peel ($215) is where real change in pigment, photo-damage and texture happens. 15% glycolic for speed, 15% lactic for tolerance.

The Acne Peel Treatment ($215) layers oxygen and 30% AHA in one visit for advanced acne correction.

Both are gated. You cannot book either without prior peels and a home care period first — more on that below.

Combination

The Dermaplane + Peel ($199) removes vellus hair and surface dead cells, then treats the skin underneath. Very superficial peels only. Book it 10 to 14 days before an event, never the week of.

Why some peels have prerequisites

Our two corrective-depth peels require 1 to 3 very superficial peels completed first, plus active home care for 2 weeks (Fitzpatrick I–III) or 2 to 4 weeks (Fitzpatrick IV–VI).

This isn't gatekeeping. Chemical peels work by controlled injury — that's the mechanism. On unprepared or reactive skin, that injury triggers melanocytes to produce more pigment, and you end up with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation layered on top of whatever you came in for.

It is the single most common way a peel makes skin worse, and it's entirely preventable. So we prevent it.

What a series actually looks like

Six to eight treatments, two weeks apart, then monthly maintenance.

Only one thing changes per visit. For layered peels we increase the number of layers — 1 to 2, then 2 to 3, then 3 to 4. For timed peels we increase exposure — starting at 3 to 5 minutes and adding 1 to 2 minutes each visit, to a 15-minute ceiling.

Once you top out a depth, you progress. Three common progressions:

• Regulation — Oxygen ×2 → Peptide Perfection ×4
• Correction — Oxygen ×2 → 30% Glycolic & Lactic ×4
• Full progression — Oxygen ×2 → Peptide ×2 → 30% AHA ×2

Peels and your other treatments

Peels don't include extractions. No steam, no hot towels, no squeezing. That's deliberate — manipulating inflamed skin during a resurfacing treatment is how acne gets worse. When you need decongestion, that's a HydraFacial or a NeoClear visit. HydraFacial is booked separately; NeoClear can be added to the same visit as your peel.

Season

Our two very superficial peels are safe year round. The 30% Glycolic & Lactic Peel is year round with limitations — fine if you're strict with SPF and mostly indoors, otherwise we book it in fall and winter. Sun exposure after corrective depth undoes the work.

Who we can't treat

Accutane within 12 months. Active cancer treatment. Cancer history under 2 years' remission without physician consent. Sunburn or recent tanning. Open wounds or active cold sores. Some autoimmune conditions. Recent facial surgery.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: the Essential Oxygen Regenerative Peel and Essential Peptide Perfection Peel only, with physician consent. No 30% AHA, and nothing containing salicylic acid.

Before your peel: stop prescription Retin-A 7 days prior and avoid it for 7 days after. Stop non-prescription retinol and AHA/BHA 3 to 5 days prior. No Botox or filler within 14 days either side.

We've moved to GlyMed Plus

If you've had a BioRePeelCl3® with us before — that was our previous peel system, and we've retired it in favour of GlyMed Plus.

The reason is the progression. BioRePeel was one product at one depth. GlyMed gives us three depths in a structured ladder, which means we can start gentler, escalate properly, and take clients further than a single-depth peel ever could. It also means we can treat rosacea, and treat pregnant and breastfeeding clients, which we couldn't before.
