Acne Peel Treatment
Acne Peel Treatment
Our deepest acne protocol. Oxygen laid down first, then a 30% glycolic and lactic blend layered on top, with salicylic acid in the cleanse.
It's the correction-phase treatment for acne that has stabilized but left marks, texture and pigment behind. It has prerequisites: 1 to 3 very superficial peels, active home care, and prior standalone appointments for each peel we layer.

Please read before booking - this one has three prerequisites
- 1 to 3 very superficial peels completed
- Active home care for 2 weeks if you are Fitzpatrick I to III, or 2 to 4 weeks if you are Fitzpatrick IV to VI
- The Essential Oxygen Regenerative Peel and the Essential 30% Glycolic and Lactic Peel each performed on their own, in separate previous appointments, before we layer them
That third one matters most. We do not combine two peels on skin that has not handled each of them alone. If something reacts, we need to know which one did it.
Not there yet? Start with the Acne Oxygen Peel.
Best for
- All grades of acne where the very superficial series has plateaued
- Post-acne pigmentation and uneven texture alongside active lesions
- Acne that has stabilized but left marks behind
- Oily and congested skin with a strong tolerance already established
Who it is not for
- Pregnancy and nursing. Salicylic acid, plus a 30% AHA blend. Not appropriate.
- Anyone without all three prerequisites completed
- Accutane in the last 12 months
- Active cold sores, open wounds or sunburn
- Recent facial surgery, or cosmetic injectables in the last 14 days
- Active cancer treatment. A history of cancer requires physician consent and a minimum of two years in remission
The treatment
Our deepest acne protocol. Salicylic acid in the cleanse, oxygen laid down first, then a 30% glycolic and lactic blend layered on top. This is the correction-phase treatment - for acne that has stabilized but left marks, texture and pigment behind. 60 to 75 minutes.
Why the layered peel goes on first
The oxygen solution self-neutralizes and needs 3 to 5 minutes to do it. The timed peel on top can be removed the moment your skin says enough. That order gives us control. It is not arbitrary.
Getting here
1 to 3 very superficial peels first, the home care prep window for your Fitzpatrick type, and each of the two peels we are layering performed on its own beforehand. We only layer once you have maxed out what a single peel can do.
How a series builds
6 to 8 treatments, two weeks apart. Maximum 2 layers of oxygen. The 30% AHA starts at 2 to 4 minutes and builds to a 10-minute ceiling, which is lower than when it is used alone, because two peels are working at once. Then monthly maintenance.
Season
Fall and winter preferred, unless you are strict with SPF and mostly indoors.
Pairing with your other treatments
- Aerolase and NeoClear: can be performed in the same session as your peel, at every depth we offer.
- Dermapen 4 microneedling: we alternate these. Minimum 14 to 21 days apart from your peel.
- Dermaplaning: never combined with this depth.
- Injectables: no Botox or filler within 14 days either side.
The Glow Lab method
Stabilize. Correct. Refine. Maintain. This is the deep end of Correct.
Before you come in
- All three prerequisites completed - prior peels, home care window, and each peel performed on its own
- Stop prescription Retin-A 7 days before, and avoid it for 7 days after
- Stop non-prescription retinol and AHA or BHA products 3 to 5 days before
- Tell us about any oral acne medication you are taking
- No waxing, tanning or sunburn in the days beforehand
- No Botox or filler within 14 days
During
Redness, tingling or itching, and more sensation than a single peel. Two solutions are working at once. Tell us what you are feeling and we will adjust the clock.
After
Redness, with mild flaking or dryness over the following days. Plan for a quiet couple of days rather than a big night out. Wear your SPF.
The first few days
- Avoid sun exposure and reapply SPF every 90 to 120 minutes
- Skip exercise and sweating for 24 to 72 hours
- Hold off on makeup for 24 to 72 hours, and wash your brushes before you use them again
- Hands off your face. No picking and no squeezing while it flakes
- No active ingredients - retinol, AHAs, BHAs, benzoyl peroxide - for 3 to 5 days
- Keep the skin well moisturized and stay on your tyrosinase inhibitor
Why are there three prerequisites? Because we are layering two peels. You need 1 to 3 very superficial peels completed, the home care prep window for your Fitzpatrick type, and each of the two peels performed on its own first. That way if your skin reacts, we know exactly what caused it.
How long is the home care window? 2 weeks for Fitzpatrick I to III, 2 to 4 weeks for Fitzpatrick IV to VI.
Where do I start instead? The Acne Oxygen Peel. It has no prerequisites and it is the first step toward this one.
Is it stronger than the Essential 30% Glycolic and Lactic Peel? Yes, because it layers. That is also why the AHA exposure time is capped lower here at 10 minutes instead of 15.
Do you do extractions? Not during a peel. Book a HydraFacial for decongestion, or add Aerolase NeoClear to this same visit.
How many will I need? 6 to 8, two weeks apart, then monthly maintenance.
Can I book this while pregnant or nursing? No. Salicylic acid plus a 30% AHA blend. The Essential Oxygen Regenerative Peel is the option we use instead, with physician consent.
Can I have Aerolase the same day? Yes, in the same session. Dermapen 4 microneedling we alternate, a minimum of 14 to 21 days apart.
Best time of year? Fall and winter, unless you are strict with SPF and mostly indoors.
I have a history of cancer. We do not treat during active chemotherapy or radiation. With a history, we require physician consent and a minimum of two years in remission.
