Its 650 microsecond pulse is shorter than the skin’s thermal relaxation time, which means the energy reaches the hair follicle without heating surrounding tissue. It is FDA cleared on all 6 Fitzpatrick skin types, I through VI, without modification.

Diode and alexandrite lasers target surface melanin to find the hair. That works fine on lighter skin tones, but their wavelength can interact dangerously with epidermal pigment in darker skin. Aerolase uses 1064nm, which bypasses surface melanin entirely and targets the hair follicle directly. Result: safer on all skin tones, no skin cooling needed, no tanning restriction.

Lighter hair responds less to laser hair removal than dark hair regardless of system, because the laser targets pigment in the follicle. Aerolase NeoHair gets better results on light hair than diode/alexandrite, but very light blond or fully grey hair has limited response. The standard course is 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, to capture every hair in its active growth phase. Most clients see significant reduction by session 3 and reach 80 to 90 percent reduction by session 6. Hormonal facial hair may benefit from periodic maintenance sessions after the initial course.

Small areas: 5 to 15 minutes. Medium areas: 25 to 30 minutes. Large areas: 45 minutes. Plan to add 10 minutes for intake and prep on your first visit.

Shave the treated area the day before or day of. Skip waxing, plucking, threading, or epilating for 4 weeks before treatment because those remove the follicle the laser needs to find. No specific sun avoidance required.

No. You can return to work, apply makeup, exercise gently the same day. Avoid direct prolonged sun exposure and skip hot tubs for 24 hours. That’s the extent of post-treatment care.
