The Glow Lab
Essential Peptide Perfection Peel
Essential Peptide Perfection Peel
A 15% AHA blend of mandelic, malic and lactic acid, carried on 6 peptides and cushioned so they work slowly instead of sharply.
This is the one for rosacea, redness and reactive skin, and the only peel in our series we clear for it. It's also a beautiful first peel if you've been told your skin can't handle one.
Choose it when you want brightening and collagen support without provoking your barrier.

If you have been told peels are not for your skin, this is the one that is. Mandelic acid is the fourth-smallest AHA, so it penetrates slowly and irritates less. That is why this is the only protocol in The Glow Lab Peel Series we clear for rosacea.
Best for
- Rosacea, redness and reactive skin - the one peel we clear for it
- Acne, aging and hyperpigmentation
- Uneven tone and early fine lines
- First-time peel clients - no prep period required
- All Fitzpatrick types, I through VI
What it does
- Brightens and evens skin tone
- Minimizes pores and softens fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduces acne-causing bacteria
- Signals collagen production through six peptides while the acids resurface
Please tell us first
This formula contains hydrolyzed soy protein, almond-derived mandelic acid and shea butter. If you have a soy or nut allergy, tell us before booking and we will choose a different protocol for you.
When we would pause
- Accutane in the last 12 months
- Active cold sores, open wounds or sunburn
- Recent facial surgery, or cosmetic injectables in the last 14 days
- Active cancer treatment. A history of cancer requires physician consent and a minimum of two years in remission
- Pregnancy and nursing - use with caution, with physician consent
The treatment
A 15% AHA blend carried on six peptides. Mandelic, malic and lactic acids at 5% each, paired with copper tripeptide-1, acetyl hexapeptide-8 and four more. The acids resurface. The peptides tell your skin to build. 45 to 60 minutes.
This is a timed peel rather than a layered one, which means we control the strength by the clock and can remove it the moment your skin says enough.
How a series builds
6 to 8 treatments, two weeks apart. We start at 3 to 7 minutes of exposure and add 1 to 2 minutes each visit, up to a 15-minute ceiling. Once you are comfortable at 15 minutes, we progress you to our corrective depth. Monthly maintenance holds it.
Pairing with your other treatments
- Aerolase: can be performed in the same session as your peel, at every depth we offer.
- Dermapen 4 microneedling: we alternate these. Minimum 14 to 21 days apart from your peel.
- Dermaplaning: can be combined with this peel at a reduced dose, once you have had each on its own.
- Injectables: no Botox or filler within 14 days either side.
The Glow Lab method
Stabilize. Correct. Refine. Maintain. For reactive skin, this protocol does the stabilizing and the correcting at the same time.
The one thing to expect
Most clients see no visible peeling from this treatment. That is normal, and it is not a sign it did not work. The activity is happening inside the skin, not on the surface. Your skin is renewing whether or not you can watch it flake.
Before you come in
- Tell us about any soy or nut allergy before you book
- Stop prescription Retin-A 7 days before, and avoid it for 7 days after
- Stop non-prescription retinol and AHA or BHA products 3 to 5 days before
- No waxing, tanning or sunburn in the days beforehand
- No Botox or filler within 14 days
During
Possible redness and tingling. We stay with you and watch how your skin responds, minute by minute.
After
Little to no downtime. Minimal flaking or dryness if any. Wear your SPF.
The first few days
- Keep sun exposure to a minimum and reapply SPF every 90 to 120 minutes
- Skip exercise and sweating for 24 to 72 hours
- Hold off on makeup for 24 to 72 hours, and wash your brushes before you use them again
- No active ingredients - retinol, AHAs, BHAs - for 3 to 5 days
- Keep the skin well moisturized and do not pick if you flake
Does this contain allergens? Yes, and this matters. The Peptide Perfection formula contains hydrolyzed soy protein. It also contains mandelic acid, which is derived from almonds, and shea butter. Almond and shea are tree nut derived. If you have a soy allergy or any nut allergy, tell us before you book and we will place you in a different protocol - the Essential Oxygen Regenerative Peel is the usual alternative.
I have rosacea. Is this really safe? It is the only peel we clear for rosacea, and clearance still depends on your severity and how your skin is behaving that week. We assess it at consultation, every time.
Why am I not peeling? Because this one usually does not make you flake. Renewal is happening below the surface. Flaking is a side effect, not a result.
Do I need prior peels first? No. This is an entry-point protocol. You can book it on your first visit.
How many do I need? 6 to 8, two weeks apart, then monthly maintenance. Peels are cumulative.
Can I have Aerolase the same day? Yes, in the same session. Dermapen 4 microneedling we alternate, a minimum of 14 to 21 days apart.
Is it safe year round? Yes, with diligent SPF and minimal sun exposure.
I am pregnant or nursing. These professional solutions are listed as use with caution, with physician consent. Bring that consent to your appointment.
I have a history of cancer. We do not treat during active chemotherapy or radiation. With a history, we require physician consent and a minimum of two years in remission.
Refunds, returns and studio credit
All services, packages and memberships are final sale and non-refundable. Every treatment plan is customized and reserved specifically for you, which is why we do not refund services once purchased.
If you purchase a peel or package and we determine at consultation that it is not the right fit for your skin, the value may be applied as studio credit toward a more appropriate treatment. This is reviewed case by case, and it exists to support your results, not to limit your care.
- Studio credits have no cash value
- Studio credits are non-transferable
- They may be used toward future services, packages, memberships or retail products
- They are subject to expiration as outlined at the time of issue
Unopened, unused retail products may be returned within fourteen (14) days with proof of purchase, issued as studio credit only. Read the full policy at glowlabwellness.ca/policies/refund-policy.
